Post: Director of Quality & Safety

Job Purpose:
As part of the Kingwood senior leadership team (SLT), the Director of Quality & Safety will lead on improvement, quality assurance, health & safety, and inspection & assessment, working closely with the Director of Care & Support. Responsible for supporting Kingwood to deliver strategic objectives, creating a learning culture that emphasises quality and continuous improvement, ensuring we meet the highest standards possible for the people we support.
Main accountabilities:
Provide specialist knowledge, challenge, and support to the Kingwood senior leadership team (SLT) to improve service quality, H&S and service delivery.
Ensure that there is a clear consistent focus on delivering autistic specific, person-centre, outstanding support services. and shape development of a continuous improvement culture
Support the development and embedding of quality assurance frameworks and processes. Develop tools for measuring quality and conducting audits to assess compliance with standards.
Monitor and report on quality performance. Collect and analyse data on quality performance, identifying trends & solutions, and reporting findings to Kingwood senior leadership team (SLT) and trustee board.
Continuously improve quality of services. Identify areas for improvement & development. Work with Director of Care & Support, Area Managers and Service Managers to implement improvement plans, and monitoring progress.
Analyse, interpret, and contribute to the continuous improvement of practice delivery across Kingwood services, ensuring lessons learnt are disseminated across the workforce.
Ensure that a robust co-production approach is implemented in the services, seeking feedback from people we support and other stakeholders on service provision to ensure they are fit for purpose and make recommendations when corrective action needs to be taken.
As part of Kingwood senior leadership team (SLT) create and embed policies, processes, procedures, standards, and systems.
Ensure that there are effective information and recording systems that can produce accurate and timely monitoring reports for internal and external stakeholders, and which support the continuous improvement of Kingwood services.
Monitor the delivery of services against commissioned contracts and frameworks to ensure Kingwood is meeting its contractual obligations.
Develop relationships with other providers of adult social care to share and learn about best practice.
Establish, build, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the people we support, families, CQC, commissioners and regulatory / quality auditors to increase awareness of Kingwood’s capabilities and strengths.
To work in partnership with external agencies, commissioners, and regulators, to ensure Kingwood is represented and that all information pertaining to their enquiries is appropriately responded to.
Work alongside the organisations safeguarding lead (Director of Care & Support) to promote and ensure adherence to safeguarding regulations and the Charity’s duty to protect the people it supports and staff in equal measure.
Be Kingwood’s Health & Safety Lead. Liaise with the external H&S partner and coordinate H&S audits. Introduce and monitor safe working environments and safe working practices in all services.
Work alongside the Director of Care & Support to manage and respond to complaints, concerns, allegations, disclosures, and incidents relating to Kingwood services and staff. Ensure all allegations, concerns and incidents are correctly investigated and all supporting documentation and records are accurate and maintained in a timely way.
