Belinda MacLeod, Peripatetic Support Manager for Autism at Kingwood, has been nominated by her team for the Home Care Coordinator Award for the Great British Care Awards.
Autism at Kingwood uses a person-centred approach to build meaningful and unconditional professional relationships with our clients that they can absolutely rely on. To build this trust, continuity of care is essential. Belinda fully embraces this approach, encouraging the people she manages support for to both rely on others and foster independence, enabling them to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. Her team members have profound respect for Belinda and offered the following comments:

All staff have both mandatory and specialist training to ensure they have the correct skills to support individuals. Belinda offers regular supportive and reflective supervision, offering person-centred professional development. Dean says, ‘Belinda is always willing to discuss any difficult issues and is always able to offer solutions in times of crisis.’ Owen says ‘Since I started with Kingwood, in August 2020, Belinda has been a constant source of encouragement, guidance and support.’
Belinda’s team feel truly supported emotionally as well as practically and say:
