What a great celebration we had this year. As always, it’s great to see everyone with big smiles on their faces!
Watch our brilliant dancers in action here.
It is a pleasure to celebrate with the people we support, their families, and our incredible staff.
We also held our Annual Awards to recognise the commitment and support of our frontline staff, who were nominated by colleagues, people we support and families.

Person we Support:
Edward
“Edward, over time, has become more settled and calm. He is now able to do a lot of activities such as bowling, shopping and walks. He is interacting and communicating well with staff and is able to attend appointments with professionals such as GPs and Dentists.” Ebrima, Support Manager
“Edward has been incredibly friendly with staff and has improved his request for something or an activity.” Adedotun, Support Worker
Derryn
“I want to support our staff member Eutycus’ nominated of Derryn for an award, in recognition of his incredible personal progress.
When we reflect on his journey, it’s clear just how far Derryn has come. From a time when he required full support, Derryn has reached a level where he is now independent in many areas. He completes his entire morning routine independently, with staff only needing to observe and offer encouragement.
It wasn’t long ago that his support was a significant challenge – staff were hesitant to work with him; but today it is a different story – all the area staff want to work there! That’s largely because Derryn himself has helped create a calm, homely, and positive environment.
Derryn has also taught staff his communication style through structured TEACCH strategies, which they now actively use to support him and others. His transformation is not only inspiring – it’s a testament to resilience, teamwork, and the impact of person-centred support.
I truly believe Derryn deserves this recognition — not just for himself, but to show his parents and others what is possible through dedication, consistency, and belief.” Mike, Service Manager
Patrick
“Patrick engages more now in the community. He enjoys going to music and dance in Didcot every Friday. He loves shopping and enjoys pushing the trolley. He loves walking and going to the park.” Faith, Support Worker
Charlotte
“Charlotte has improved a lot. When she joined Kingwood, we used to write on paper to communicate; she would leave her cups and plates where she was eating and wouldn’t tidy up.
Today we speak to Charlotte and ask her if she will help out. She sets the table for others, serve drinks, uses the dishwasher and the washing machine and puts her clothes in the wardrobe. She has come a long way.” Esther, Support Worker
Support Team: John Morris Road
“For going above and beyond in Davey’s end of life care.
The staff picked up every shift possible and adapted their way of working to ensure that Davey was comfortable and calm and they were all there on Christmas Eve at the end. They should be incredibly proud of themselves for being there for Davey, and his family, whilst managing their own emotions, at every moment.” Jess, Service Manager
”For going above and beyond to provide Palliative care with dignity, respect and care for Davey when he was diagnosed with end stage 4 cancer.
The team stepped out of the support worker role into a carer role. They also advocated his wishes to be cared for at home. I felt very humbled to be allowed to support them at a very difficult time and would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart.” Carol, Area Manager
Support Worker: John
“I am nominating John because his accomplishments resonate deeply within our company. He has consistently demonstrated extraordinary dedication, his unwavering commitment to uplifting those around them. His leadership in various initiatives has not only sparked positive change but has also inspired others to strive for excellence. Furthermore, his ability to navigate challenges with grace and perseverance highlights his character and integrity, making him a truly deserving candidate for recognition.” Governor, Support Worker
Leadership: Carolanne
“During my maternity leave, there were multiple support managers involved and Caz was the constant person there at Campion Road. She has been a huge help to the support managers, has worked extremely well with professionals, been a point of call for families and has remained dedicated to the people we support. Since my return, Caz has been a huge help, and I couldn’t be without her!” Jess, Service Manager
