What We Offer

Sarah Butcher MBE

Chief Executive

Sarah has specialist knowledge and expertise in autism.  Having worked in the autism sector for over 34 years, Sarah holds an MSc. Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care and in 2018 was awarded an MBE for Services to Children with Autism and Special Educational Needs.

Prior to working at Autism at Kingwood, Sarah worked at Priors Court, a residential school for autistic children which was also established by Dame Stephanie Shirley CH.

Director Of Operations

I have worked in social care since 2007, specialising in supporting people with mental health problems in the Oxfordshire area. I joined Autism at Kingwood in 2019. I have excelled in my roles through being, compassionate, creative, versatile and always interested.

Lynsey Preston

Senior Director of Operations

I’m pleased to introduce myself and excited to join the team at Autism at Kingwood as the Senior Operations Director. I bring with me 30 years of experience in the childcare and health and social care sector, including 25 years dedicated to supporting autistic people at Prior’s Court – a registered children’s home and adult provision founded by Dame Stephanie Shirley.

Throughout my time at Prior’s Court, I have had the privilege of managing and opening residential homes, being part of the senior leadership team, and most recently serving as the Director of Safeguarding and Health & Safety.

I’m passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and am committed to working in partnership with the people we support, their families, and the dedicated team at Kingwood.

Sundeep Singh

Director of Care and Support

Sundeep is an experienced social care leader with over 14 years’ experience supporting people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and complex support requirements. He has spent the last 12 years in senior operational and leadership roles, leading services across supported living and residential settings.

As Director of Care and Support at Autism at Kingwood, Sundeep is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services that enable people to live fulfilling and independent lives. He is passionate about creating positive outcomes for the people we support, whilst ensuring services remain safe, effective, and responsive to individual needs.

Throughout his career, Sundeep has led large and complex service portfolios, with a strong focus on quality, safeguarding, governance, and developing high-performing teams. He has extensive experience working alongside people we support, families, commissioners, and regulatory bodies to drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of care.

Sundeep is particularly committed to empowering managers and frontline teams, believing that strong leadership, clear accountability, and a positive culture are key to delivering exceptional support. He is dedicated to ensuring that Autism at Kingwood continues to provide innovative, person-centred services where people can thrive and achieve their goals.

Matt Phelps

Director of Quality & Safety

I am pleased to introduce myself as the Director of Quality and Safety at Autism at Kingwood. I have worked in roles supporting autistic people since 2009, including senior leadership positions since 2015. During this time, I have supported both children and adults across the education and social care sectors.

 

I have extensive experience in managing and opening residential services, Positive Behaviour Support and leading the development and implementation of organisation-wide quality and health and safety frameworks. I am passionate about delivering high quality, person-centred support that achieves individualised outcomes and improves quality of life. 

'Mahesh’ Arcott Mahesh

Chartered Management Accountant

Mahesh is a Chartered Management Accountant and holds an MBA degree in corporate finance.

He joined Autism at Kingwood in November 2021 and brings strategic leadership, entrepreneurial and business turnaround experience gained in both the private and voluntary sectors. His private sector experience includes international aerospace, engineering & manufacturing, and organic food sectors.

More recently, he moved to the voluntary sector and before joining Kingwood, served as CFO at Earthwatch Institute, Community Links Trust and St Joseph’s Hospice, Hackney playing a central role in improving mission impact and financial sustainability. He believes that a sustainable third sector is critical to the delivery of essential services in partnership with the public sector.

Philippa Stannard

Head of Engagement

Philippa joined Autism at Kingwood in 2019 and is responsible for stakeholder engagement, communications and fundraising.

Philippa has worked in the charity sector for over 25 years in a range of marketing and fundraising roles.

In 2022 Philippa was awarded a Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Award for her campaigning work.

Anne Asprey

Head of HR

I joined Autism at Kingwood in September 2022 as Interim Head of HR. I am an experienced senior manager in the public, private and not for profit sectors.

Carol Oakley

Area Manager

I am Carol Oakley one of the Registered Managers for Autism at Kingwood. I have worked within the care sector for 20 years and have experience of working with a wide range of client groups in both children and adult services. I would consider myself to be a people person and enjoy helping others whether it be a person we support, a family member or a staff member.

Sarah Shewchuk

Area Manager

I have worked in social care since 1992, starting in a psychiatric ward in a hospital caring for the Elderly when I was 20 years old. I worked with an agency for a time with breaks to have my three children. In 2000 I started as a bank staff at Horspath and became a Support Manager in 2007, and Area Manager in 2017. I am now a Grandmother and I volunteer for Domestic abuse charity as a counsellor.
