• World Kindness Day 13th November

    Estelle Christmas Chief Operating Officer

Saturday November 13th is “World Kindness Day”.

The word “Kindness” comes from an old Middle English word meaning “nation” and has roots in the word “kin” relating to one’s family, race or relations.

World Kindness day was launched in 1998 in Tokyo by The World Kindness movement and encourages everyone to make random acts of kindness to people in need of it and strangers too who will benefit.

There are currently over 28 nations involved with this event that isn’t associated with any religion or political movement. The aim is to make the world a better place and create a butterfly effect of good deeds across the globe.

Kingwood has “kindness” sitting very firmly at the top of its values framework and takes every opportunity to ensure that kindness is duly promoted in all its interactions and activity with the people we support, our colleagues and everyone who is connected to Kingwood.

Do give some thought as to how you will promote kindness in your immediate world this Saturday and if you have any amazing kindness stories to share then please drop me an email estelle-l.christmas@kingwood.org.uk .
