• Trustee opportunity at Autism at Kingwood

Autism at Kingwood is a leading charity and social care provider, operating across the Thames Valley

Dame Stephanie Shirley founded Autism at Kingwood in 1994 to support her autistic son Giles, removing him from a long-term psychiatric hospital and into a regular house where for the first time in his life, he was enabled to make his own choices about his life.

This core person-centred value holds true today and the charity provides supported living care for over 140 people, with dedicated, caring teams supporting people to live successfully in their own homes. Our Transforming Lives team are renowned experts in supporting people out of inappropriate and often long-term inpatient settings, and helping them to integrate back into their community.

We have a dynamic Trustee Board, the members of whom contribute expertise in their field. We are seeking a seeking a new trustee with HR experience to join the Board and chair the HR Sub-Committee. Our Chief Executive Kate Allen, has provided a full Kingwood Trustee Brief. We would love to hear from you if you feel this role is of interest.  If you would like an informal discussion with either Kate or our  outgoing trustee and Chair of the HR Committee, please email julie.harmsworth@kingwood.org.uk who will make the arrangements.
