A young lady supported by Kingwood

Kingwood College will provide full time life skills training and education programmes to young people aged between 18-25.

College Curriculum

Kingwood College will help support the students who study there to achieve their aspirations and dreams through a curriculum which is tailored to their personal strengths and abilities. Every student will follow an individual programme that’s designed to help them realise their full potential.

Training in life skills such as making the tea, going shopping, getting on a bus will be given by resident experienced Kingwood staff.  Classes in subjects ranging from computer skills, money management, social relationships, reading and writing will be organised in partnership with Reading College of Further Education.  We will also offer vocational training which equips the young people for paid, part-time work in areas such as horticulture, photography, computerised office work, car washing and other chosen occupations.

Kingwood always works in partnership with the families of the people we support and this will be particularly important as the curriculum will be based on forty three weeks a year, with the students having short holidays at home.  We will evaluate the work of the College in partnership with each family.
